Vaccinations
Your veterinarian is your best source for information concerning vaccinations.
For the safety of all pets, proof of vaccinations is required at the time of boarding.
Vaccination Requirements for Dogs
All dogs are required to have current vaccinations for rabies, distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvo and bordetella. These vaccines must be administered no later than 72 hours prior to boarding.
Vaccination Requirements for Cats
All cats are required to have current vaccinations for feline rabies, distemper, rhinotracheitis and calici. These vaccines must be administered no later than 72 hours prior to boarding.
Health Records
To ensure a thorough understanding of your pet's specific needs, all medical records and instructions concerning medications and special requirements must be detailed to the staff at check-in time.
Aggressive Pets
Aggressive pets may be restricted to their runs to protect our employees and other pets. Pet owners are responsible for all damage caused by their pets to our facility or staff.
Veterinary Services
If your pet requires veterinarian services during a stay in the kennel, we will contact the veterinarian you list during the check-in process. If necessary, we will transport your pet to your veterinarian for service. In the event your veterinarian cannot be contacted, we reserve the right to contact our in-house veterinarian to examine and treat your pet's illness at your expense. Our facility is affiliated with Lee's Summit Animal Hospital North.
Boarding Charges
Summit Pet Care calculates boarding charges much like a regular hotel. You are charged for a full day on the day your pet arrives. Our check-out time is 1:00 p.m. An additional day of boarding will be charged after the 1:00 p.m. check-out time. Pets scheduled for grooming or bathing on the last day of their stay are not subject to the 1:00 p.m. check-out time. Guarantees may be required and charges made for no-shows during peak periods and during major holidays.
Personal Belongings
At Summit Pet Care, we understand the importance of giving your pet a sense of comfort and security by having certain items from home accompany them during their stay. For the sake of safety and cleanliness, we request that personal articles be limited to no more than two items per pet. All items must meet our safety and cleanliness criteria and be clearly marked with your name. Summit Pet Care is not responsible for the loss or damage of any personal items.
Containers
Summit Pet Care invites you to bring your pet's food from home only if it is sealed in an air-tight, lidded container. Please do not bring bags. If you don't have a food container, we will provide one for a nominal fee. Food storage requirements are established by the Missouri Department of Agriculture and are strictly enforced.
Grooming Services
Summit Pet Care offers full-service grooming and bathing facilities for your pet. Our professional grooming staff provides a wide range of services including baths/trims, and maintenance brushing and combing. We always recommend a bath at the conclusion of any long stay in the kennel. Ask for details and pricing.
Pet Supplies
For the convenience of our clients, Summit Pet Care stocks a variety of pet care products and supplies. From premium quality pet foods to collars and toys, we have the products you need to ensure the health and happiness of your pet.
After Hours Service
After hours service is available for clients who need to drop-off or pick-up a pet outside of our regular business hours. Please make arrangements with our staff to pick-up your pet at the time of your choosing. The charge for this service is $30. If you arrange to pick-up a pet on a Sunday or holiday, you will be expected to pay for the remainder of the weekend or holiday.
Attention Summit Pet Care Customers
In the past, many of our customers have requested to pick their pets up on Sunday. Prior to March 04, 2001, Sunday pick-ups required an additional charge of $30.00 on top of
regular boarding fees. For your convenience, we are now offering Sunday pick-ups between the hours of 3-5 p.m. without the additional $30.00 charge. We have chosen these hours to accommodate the majority of our customers. If you choose to pick your pet up on Sunday between the hours of 3-5 p.m. you will be charged for Sunday night because it is after our regular 1:00 p.m. check-out time.
